15 plus years in Supply Chain Strategy and Sustainability
Mohit had what most professionals spend decades building – fifteen years of experience, deep expertise in supply chain strategy and sustainability, and strong technical credibility.
“With his experience, authority should have been automatic – but as soon as the stakes got high, that confidence quietly slipped away.”
He would begin clear and confident then feel it slipping.
His words tightened. He stumbled over simple phrases.
He repeated himself, not because his point lacked value, but because he could feel control fading mid-sentence.
The problem wasn’t knowledge-it was keeping his balance under pressure..And what followed after those meetings was heavier than the moment itself – self-doubt, emotional drain, and a quiet dip in confidence that stayed longer than it should have.
Over time, it felt like slow poison, holding him back in rooms that demanded stronger leadership.
The painful truth?
He was prepared. He was capable. He had earned his seat.
But his effort wasn’t translating into influence.
“When MohitI attended first session with Gurleen Ma’am at Zenith School of Leadership, he knew immediately this wasn’t surface-level training.
He shared -”It wasn’t basic leadership or communication program- it was not about fixing how we spoke, or just body language. It definitely wasn’t about speaking louder or trying to appear more confident or build forced authority. It was deeper than I ever thought.”
Through the psychometric diagnostics and the Communication Intelligence Performance Matrix, he saw the invisible patterns shaping how he showed up. He noticed that not just his strengths, but the blind spots that were quietly costing him the authority.
For years, I believed strong communicators simply had better words and more confidence. That belief broke early in the program. The real issue wasn’t external. It was internal.
I started noticing old thought patterns , subtle doubts, habits of over-explaining, moments of second-guessing that were weakening my authority even when I was right. I created a clear ‘Not To Do’ list. Small behaviors, but powerful enough to change how I was perceived.
As his internal clarity strengthened, something surprising happened. He shared- “My external communication began evolving on its own. The hardest part was having the answers and still holding them back until the right moment.
It didn’t feel forced.It felt stable.Almost automatic.”
Within weeks, the difference was visible.
He stopped over-explaining.
He stopped over-accommodating.
He stopped trying to prove.
He began responding with intention. He knew preparation was essential but never knew the real preparation he needed. Earlier, preparation meant preparing content. Now, preparation meant preparing outcomes. And outcomes are nit just the result you need but relationships you build in the process as well.
He no longer entered meetings worrying, “Will I be heard?”
He now enters high stakes rooms asking, “What is the outcome I want to achieve from this meeting?”
He began reading the psychology of the room. Anticipating objections before they surfaced.
Guiding discussions toward clarity instead of reacting defensively.
Mohit says- “One realization clearly stood out for me- Intelligent communication is not about exchanging information. It is about building meaningful influence.”
As his perception of people shifted, something unexpected happened.People began perceiving him differently.
Senior leaders began valuing his perspective.
His thinking was trusted. His presence was noticed.
Recently, he traveled for four days with two senior leaders. In the past, that proximity would have triggered hyper self-monitoring and fear.
This time, he felt grounded.Prepared.Steady.
As Mohit says – “Fear still appears occasionally. But it no longer dictates my behavior.”
Mohit shares- “Before Zenith, I genuinely believed personality and communication style were fixed. I thought, “This is just how I am.”
Under Gurleen Ma’am ’s guidance, especially through the one-to-one sessions and personal mentorship, I began to realize how much of what I called “personality” was actually pattern.
I began to unlearn assumptions I had carried for years.
I started to relearn how to think under pressure.
I also rebuilt how I saw myself in leadership spaces.
And that changed everything.
He learned that patterns can be rewired. Gurleen Ma’am made him realize – Authority can be built and it doesn’t need to be enforced, Identity can be upgraded, being a leader doesn’t mean you can’t be still loved and admired simultaneously.
I joined to become a better communicator. What I gained was far more meaningful.
I became a version of myself I respect – grounded, intentional, and influential.
Today, I no longer walk into rooms trying to earn authority.
I carry it. And most importantly, I know I’m still evolving.
I am a leader in progress.
I am a Zenith.
