When Leadership Felt Harder Than Expected
Leadership was a natural progression in Aarti’s career.
She had worked hard, built strong professional capability, and earned responsibilities that required her to guide people and contribute at a higher level.
Yet stepping into leadership also brought a different kind of pressure.
It was no longer enough to understand the work.
She had to present ideas with confidence, respond thoughtfully in important conversations, manage different personalities, and remain composed when expectations were high.
During presentations, she sometimes experienced a level of anxiety that did not match her knowledge of the subject.
She knew what she wanted to communicate.
Yet the pressure to communicate it well could make her question herself.
At times, the challenge was not finding the answer.
It was trusting herself enough to express the answer with clarity and conviction.
